I Believe in Christmas ~ Joan Clifton Costner

Image
Source: swck.edu.hk via Stacey on Pinterest I Believe in Christmas I Believe that Jesus is the reason why There’s Christmas Day. I Believe the infant Child of Mighty God Lay on the hay. I Believe that shepherds saw, up in the sky, The Heavenly Host ~ To praise Him high. I Believe! I Believe! I Believe the eastern wise men traced a star And bowed their knees. And, I know that, in her heart, His mother knew He would be King! Time was split, a plan engaged designed to bring The heart of man To God again, With upraised hands. I Believe! Every time I see the scenes of Christmas Day Or hear the songs, I know the Way Lies in the Child Of Christmas Day! I Believe!! I Believe!!! Sweet Baby Jesus ~ Joan Clifton Costner

Image
She gave birth to a son; and he called His Name.... JESUS Sweet Baby Jesus Sweet Baby Jesus, You lay nestled in my arms. And for now, it doesn't matter that we're hearing stable sounds. For, wonder overwhelms me. Though, I know it's really true That God, in His great mercy, sent us You. Sweet Baby Jesus, You've left Your home above; Come to visit us from Heaven to fill our hearts with Love. It's easy, as I hold You and sweet joy o'er flows my cup, To imagine how the world will lift You up! Sweet Little Jesus, how will You relate to man? For, You now have his weaknesses, according to God's plan. I've seen greed and jealousy in action, here, in man. Oh, Jesus! Overcome it, if You can. Precious Little Savior, I can see You through the years ... As You walk among God's children, comforting their doubts and fears. I know that they will love You and accept Your gift of love, As You'll prepare th...

Rock-A-Bye, Baby Jesus ~ Joan Clifton Costner

Image
Rock-A-Bye, Baby Jesus  (A Song) She was sitting by the window, Underneath the Christmas tree (Hair all shiny, voice so tiny); Little rocker from age three. She was singing to her dolly She held, oh, so tenderly; Little mother, like one other, Rocking Jesus, I could see: "Rock-a-bye, now, baby Jesus.  Rock-a-bye and have sweet dreams.  Rock-a-bye my sweet and precious, Sleeping in the moonlight beams." What a tender, profound moment!  (She was unaware of me.) When I saw her kiss her dolly, I bent down upon my knees. "Rock-a-bye, now, baby Jesus.  Rock-a-bye. You're safe and warm.  Rock-a-bye, now, don't You worry.  I will keep You safe from harm." So, my prayer was silent, humble, "Lord, in my life, let it be.  In the deepest part of my heart Let me keep that place for Thee!" ...

No Wonder ~ Joan Clifton Costner

Image
NO WONDER No wonder angels came first to the shepherds, Announcing to earth, "The Good Shepherd is here!" No wonder that great host of heavenly beings, Appeared as a choir, sang loud and clear. Peace on the earth! Beloved children, sing it! Joy to the World! 'Twill never be the same! Good will to men, from the heart of creation, All given in the sweet Savior's name! It wasn't to the palace of great Herod Or to the high priest of Sanhedrin. Not even sent to Pilate's royal quarters; It was to simple, tender hearted, men. A simple man, who'd go to find the lost sheep Even in the darkest part of night ~ With voice that little lambs all would respond to. The Good Shepherd's voice and the warmth of His light! For, Jesus, while here, always sought the lost sheep And, still, if your heart tunes in just right, You'll hear the call, “Come home, lost lamb. I love you!” Just answer and feel Hi...
