Christmas Is So Much More

Stockings on the mantle;
Bulbs upon the trees.
Garlands of sparkly beads;
Christmas pleasantries.
Packages wrapped with bows;
And colorful lights.
Are only a small part;
Of Christmas done right.
It is not the cookies.
It is not the snow.
It is not the reindeer.
Nor the Christmas shows.
It is not Santa Clause;
Nor His ho, ho, ho.
It is not fantasy;
Nor the mistletoe.
Though it's filled with it's thrills;
For boys and for girls.
Christmas is so much more;
More than gold or pearls.
More than just memories;
Or glittery glow.
Christmas is so much more;
Much more than we know.
Christmas rings forth God's truth;
God came down to man.
And His name was Jesus;
God's redemption plan.
Christmas sounds forth His hope;
A perfect holy child.
A perfect Christmas gift;
God's blessing on us smiled.
Christmas portrays true peace;
And the Christ within.
The day that one trusts Him;
And turns from their sin.
It is not the cookies.
It is not the snow.
It is not the reindeer.
Nor the Christmas shows.
It is not Santa Clause;
Nor His ho, ho, ho.
It is not fantasy;
Nor the mistletoe.
Christmas reflects His love;
And His forgiveness.
Jesus is the reason;
We adore Christmas.
Christmas shines forth His Light;
It shows us the Way.
Jesus is the reason;
We have Christmas day.

Christmas is so much more;

Much more than we know.
