A Train For Christmas ~ by Gertrude Jefferies

A Train For Christmas by Gertrude Jefferies Four eyes bright with excitement, Dirty faces pressed against the pane. While wishing hard with all their might, That for Christmas, they'd get a train. They'd been to this window often, Had counted the toys just for fun. If only on Christmas morning Under their tree, there would be just one. He and little brother Bobbie Came oft to this window to stare At the toys piled in this window, But knowing for them, none were there. This year they won't have a Christmas, This year there won't be any toys. No candy canes or oranges No pleasure for two little boys. Dad lost his job this past winter, He's been looking so hard each day, And when he gets home he's so tired He doesn't have too much to say. We all try so hard to cheer him But in his eye I saw a tear, When he sadly told my momma, For the boys, 'no Christmas this year.' She smiled her l...

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Jesus 12-22-11

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Jesus  12-22-11 : To the tune of: "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" It's beginning to look a lot like Jesus, everywhere we go. Take a look at the Christmas birth. Seeing it once again - it warms our hearts and makes our spirit's glow. It's beginning to look a lot like Jesus, miracles in store - but the prettiest sight to see is the baby that will be - that we can't ignore. With no pair of sandals and cross with no handles, He carried it right up until - the weight was tremendous, our actions horrendous - He fell halfway up the hill. The soldier men, so full of sin just wanted to torture and kill. It's beginning to look a lot like Jesus, as we knew before - so Christians must always be, like the Jesus that we see - in a world at war... ©2011 louis gander ALL RIGHTS RESERVED http://www.ganderpoems.org/ ------- Poetry On This Site Can Be ...

Then A Sweet Song Played ~ (A Christmas Song)

Then A Sweet Song Played (A Christmas Song) By Susan Y Nikitenko I was thinking today; With a grateful tear. What gift I should give; To Jesus this year. Then a sweet song played; Like a gentle kiss. A Christmas carol; And it went like this. I could hear my heart; I could hear it sing. A Christmas carol; Ring a ling a ling. Ring a ling a ling,... a ling...., a ling.... Ring a ling a ling,... a ling,.... a ling.... Just give him your heart; Wrap it with a bow. Just give Him your song;                                 For He loves you so.    (yes He does) Just give Him your time; Sprinkle it with faith. Just give Him your life; Trusting in His grace. Just give Him glory; On His special day. A merry Christmas;             ...

Mary's Song ~ M.S.Lowndes

Mary's Song My soul doth magnify And glory in the Lord His lowly handmaiden He has chosen over all My spirit doth rejoice Over God my saviour For He has truly blessed me And shown great favour... Blessed and exalted Is the fruit of her womb The promise from ages past Was coming very soon I wonder if Mary The servant of the Lord Understood with depth The magnitude of her call The son she brought forth Called Holy and righteous Blessed Prince of Peace Forever there to guide us Did she know that Jesus Is the name above all names? That no one else can save us And take away our shame Did Mary know His future And who He really was? Did she know the price He'd pay Upon the blood-stained cross? Oh a mother’s heart must ache To see her first born son Hanging from a wooden cross Rejected by everyone Did she know that He would rise And walk among them again? To eat and drink and share with them Until He would ascend He left with us His Holy Spirit Forever t...

Christmas Miracles

Christmas Miracles White lace of winter; Comes silently down. Pine trees are decked with; White all around. Houses and fences; Have wreaths and red bows. Snowmen stand tall; With coal eyes and a nose. Pleasing the sweet sound; The children at play. Rolling and building; In the snow all day. Coa coa  and hot food; Their mother prepared. The house smells so good; It's so pleasant there. A blanket warming; By the fireside. The giggling children; Cuddling side by side. Christmas Eve, Joyful! Fond memories made. A home of comfort; Christmas music played. Evening has fallen; The tree stands aglow. Dancing to music; A beautiful show. By the fire side; Their daddy tells them; How Jesus was born; And came to save them. As they drift asleep; He sings lovingly. Of God's love for them; Then sits silentl...

A Christmas Gift From Heaven

Image
A Christmas Gift From Heaven ------ You are a Christmas Gift From heaven; You are loves open door. Those that receive and a believe will find; Your  love forevermore.   You are greater than our greatest enemy. You are greater than all the great galaxies. Yet your love still flows to a very small world; And you've given of yourself, though you are Lord. Your voice can be gentle in the morning light; Or loud  like a storm on a thundering night. Your goodness  like a river flows freely to all; And your mercy like snowflakes on mankind falls. More than wonderful are all your miracles; And all your ways are musically lyrical. Songs are written that praise and proclaim your name; And all those that find you are never the same.    -------   You are a Christmas gift from heaven; A wondrous shining light. That leads a lowly sinner in the way; When all he knows is night. You wer...

Manger Maker ~ Tim Neaverth

Image
Manger Maker I watched the manger maker,  And then I asked him why  The baby  Jesus  he was making  Had a tear in his eye. He looked up at me with sadness,  His face was hard as stone  And answered me, seriously,  And in a petulant tone. "Many children around our world,  Go to sleep at night in fear.  Alone they lie in the darkness  With not a parent near. "Their stomachs remain empty,  And diseases they must endure,  While only those who are affluent  Have the needed cure. "If this baby Jesus was able,  I think he would proclaim  To the adults around our world,  They have caused God's children pain. "It is the little ones who suffer,  The innocent who pay  For the greed and hate the adults bring  Into their world each day." I turned from him and headed home,  His words I knew were true.  I rea...

Pin It Joyful Day By: Susan Y Nikitenko (Song)  December 8th, 2011 We just want to.... Wish you, a happy Christmas day. We just want to.... Tell you Jesus, Happy Birthday. Ringing bells..... We proclaim  the news of your birth. Ringing bells.... We tell others how you came to earth. One and all.... Sing to  Him Christmas joyful songs. One and all... Lift your voices and sing along. CHORUS; 2X We wish you a happy birthday; Jesus our Redeemer and King. We wish you a happy birthday; With Christmas love and joy we sing. Joyful day....oh, joyful, joyful day; Gods dear Son, Gods promise  was born. Joyful day.....oh , joyful, joyful day; Was that wonder filled Christmas morn. A star shined....... And lead to the place of your birth. Angels sang..... And pronounced your coming to earth. We just want to... Wish you, a happy Christmas day. We just want to.... Tell yo...
